E92. 328i or 335i?
i know most of you would say get the 335i because of the power but twin-turbo is something i've never heard of from bmw and it makes me feel unreliable. I've read some problems people had with the 335i like the fuel pump issues and other things. Can I hear from the 335i owners what the ownership experience has been like so far. thanks.

nearly 2,000 miles and no problems yet!
I too have heard of the numerous horror stories involving creaky interiors and blown engines, haven't had any inkling of those issues. Dunno, in my opinion there is nothing that compares to that N54 TT experience, I'd go for the 335i.

Don't worry about the engine or the turbos, everything is covered under warranty, plus it won an award for 2007 10 Best Engines

5400 Miles so far....only problems....
Brake sensor needed to be adjusted..The car told me I needed new brakes at2200 miles...Also the car told me around the same time that the left turn signal lamp was a malfunction... Took to the dealer for both items at once...They reset everything and shes been good to me since....Go for the turbo man you will not regret it. |

Depends on more than just characteristics of the car. No doubt the 335i has a superior performance engine, but is that the most important factor in your decision making? Will you be able to utilize that performance or do you live in a town where you are racing from light to light? How much can you afford to spend on a car? If money was no option, I know I would be getting a Ferrari, but unfortunately, I would not be able to afford that and the divorce. The 328i and the 335i are both highly reviewed and either would be a good choice. The deciding factors are what you deem important.

335i all the way. 320 miles...over a month old...and no issues thus far. Love it to death. Don't waste your time. You'll only wish you got the 335i if you buy the 328. I've been down that road. 325ci first, then 330ci, now the 335i couple.

Get the 335i if you can swing it. Even if you have to get a base one with leatherette and flat paint it's worth it. This engine is absolutely amazing. I drove both cars hard (probably made the sales guy kinda nervous) back to back... going all out redlining them hitting corners hard ect. The 328i is a very competent car, but the 335i is in a different class all together. If you are not used to cars making over 300HP it's easy to scare yourself in this thing. Definitely a very exciting car. And on top of that if you want to tune it you can make it ridiculously fast for not a lot of money.
As for reliability.... don't worry about it. If you go to a good dealer you will get a rental car if it has to go in for anything. And the warranty can be extended out to 8 years/100k miles if you like. Reliability is not and issue. |

Depends on your needs. The 328 is excellent and more than enough for daily transportation, but if there's even a hint of speed demon in you, get the 335.

Why does everyone think modern turbo's all cause problems? My old audi A6 2.7t had many probems, but none with the turbo. Most modern cars don't have turbo problems and they last almost as long as N/A ones.
