**********s.com | Forgestar F14 Wheels l Flow Form l Lightweight l Great Vaue !!!!!
**********s.com is happy to bring to the bimmerpost community The Forgestar F14. The Forgestar lineup utilizes a combination of the best methods of forging and casting methods both in the same wheel. This is called Flow Form Casting, and is used by companies such as BBS and Enkei. These wheels are made to order and can be made to fit your Audi with a large range of offsets. Flow Form Casting is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim actually "flows" down to create the full rim width. During Flow Forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel. Oh yeah one more thing CUSTOM sizing and offsets guys! Forgestar wheels are available in a 18", 19", and 20" allowing you to decide exactly what diameter and width you want to run on your vehicle, rather being forced to run a set staggered size with cast wheels. Forgestar wheels can be made in virtually any offset, whereas standard cast wheels come in a set offset. This allows you to dial in exactly how you want your wheels to sit. Having custom offsets allows for fitment of wider wheels in stock suspension and lowered vehicles. Forgestar wheels are designed specifically for your car and it's suspension setup, where cast wheels are designed for everyone and typically do not take in to account lowered suspension setups. I wanted to post my experience with **********s to help fellow BMW owners avoid the situation I'm in. I placed my order for a set of these F14 Wheels on January 4th after speaking with their sales rep Kevin. When I placed the order I made it very clear that I could only purchase them if they would be complete within 4 weeks as I was selling my rims as soon as I got my car and couldn't afford to wait any longer than that. He said he was gonna call forgestar directly and confirm if this was possible or not. He called me back within a few minutes and told me since the blanks for my wheels were in stock they would arrive in their next batch 3-4 weeks from that date. I placed the order and a month later called to get a status but kevin no longer worked there. Another agent "called" forgestar for me and found out the rims were being shipped out shortly and gave me a date of Feb 8th as the latest I would have a tracking #. I again called today only to find out the wheels are still in production. I was transferred to the owner mike who apologized but told me it was out of his hands. I suggested to him that since by his own admission forgestar can and does take as long as they want they dont give an ETA for a specific order and simply say as I was told today "wheels can take from 2 to 10 weeks" I promise you I would not have placed my order had I been told this. Whats funny is mike told me the same thing! He told me if they told customers that no one would place an order. In other words better to tell them anything to get the order because once you place the order your screwed. You sign a form saying that no matter how long the order takes you cannot cancel or do a chargeback. When I asked kevin about this he said it was for customers who changed their minds and used a short delay as an excuse to cancel an order. Obviously these types of delays and customers in my situation are common enough occurances for them to be prepared at the time of order. As an example of the correct way to do business the first set of wheels I wanted were TSW Nurburgring RF's but when I went to buy them they warned me it could take two months as the wheels were on backorder. I didn't place the order with them and instead paid more for the forgestar wheels(which I liked less) to get them within my time frame. When I suggested to mike that they implement a policy of under promising and overdelivering he told me that is exactly what they'd done and that in actuality when Kevin called forgestar they gave him a 2 week ETA. I called forgestar today and was told the wheels would soon be out of production and was assured that there was no way anyone there could have given kevin a 2 week eta or anything close to that as these wheels are made in batches and they didn't have one scheduled for my size until now. So if you dont have any rush or concern as to when your wheels will be sent out(as I assume is the case for most people since they have their oem rims) then by all means call them up. But if for some reason you need or want your wheels within a specific time frame then look elsewhere as there are many forgestar distrubtors who would have been upfront with me and earned a customer and not just a sale. Posting this up will undoubtly extend my wait even longer and I probably should have waited til I received my wheels, but I didn't want anyone to have this issue while I waited to post.

Update: Got a call from Forgestar that my wheels were being packed today. Then about an hour later Mike from **********s called me to tell me the same thing. I dont want to come off as some P.O'ed customer who is just bashing people for the hell of it. Everything I wrote above was exactly my experience from start to finish and maybe it was not typical, as always YMMV.
