I have two problems and about to take it to a BMW place, but just wondering if anyone can provide input on it.

The first problem is when starting the engine, it starts slowing down after ten seconds or so (sometimes the check engine light comes out) then disappears and goes back to normal. The second problem is that when I come to a complete stop while driving, then start rolling to accelerate, it's very jerky and thumping--it wasn't like that before.

Everything should be fully covered under warranty right? Thanks.

Under new car warranty, yes.

last I checked with dealership (Tuesday) there is no open HPFP recall for 08 335xi.

So? The OP has an '08 which is still under the new car warranty. Everything is covered. Except like paint chips....
