Rear undercarriage work/repairs?

I had my 2008 E92 6MT Sport on the rack today to look at the underside. At the rear, nearly all of the suspension bolts have been wrenched. The lower control arms at the hubs but not at the chassis side, the diff crossmember and even the CV joints have been turned.

My question are what is the most likely reasons? It already has the sport suspension would there be a desire to lower it further? How can you tell by looking at the springs if they have been replaced? What about work to the differential? Are there LSD units available? How would I be able to tell if it was changed? What about different gearing?

The reason I am asking is that the car has an unknown Cruise Control problem in 5th and 6th gear. Dealer has exhausted all avenues and is pointing to possible modifications at the rear as the cause.

Thanks,
Greg
