got towed today...not so fun

so my baby is sick for the holidays...she got towed to the dealer this morning after yesterday it started very rough and would shake vigorously on idle...this was followed by a check engine light and a significant loss in power. The shaking then continued on even while driving/increasing revs and almost felt like i had lost a cylinder or two...i just hope they figure it out before the weekend would be nice

Sounds like a common misfire.....why are so many people having misfire problems lately?

Anyway when I first looked at your picture, I thought the rear tails were of the Audi B6. I was like why aren't you posting this on an Audi forum? lol

I had the same thing happen to me on Friday night. Ran really rough, half orange engine light came on, engine malfunction - loss of power message on dash.It was towed to the dealer on Saturday, got it back yesterday.

The issue was the fuel injectors (I thought for sure it was the HPFP recall issue). They replaced the injectors, and spark plugs, did some software updates and it running better than ever.

As a side note, I drove 75 miles on the freeway and averaged 30.1 MPG. Pretty cool, but I doubt it will last. I wonder if they used a octane booster or ? to clean the injectors. I normally would average 23.7 on this same drive.

^They unplugged your battery which reset the mpg average value you see.

I bet as soon as you left the dealer you jumped on the highway. Do some city driving and it will come right down.

Btw, OP has a 325. N54s are known to have the injector problems....N52s are more likely to have a bad coil pack.

I'm not saying it's not the injectors, but the trend I see on here is injectors for the N54 and coil packs for the N52s.

Sorry to hear, and it's a 325? Seems like from the posts lately, 328's behave the same way with SES and shaking, because there have been people who have erroneously responded, "check the HPFP!"

There are only four (4) O2 sensors in the E90.

A good dose of techron once every couple months will do wonders to keep the injectors nice a clean!
