What on earth??

I was talking to somebody last night who mentioned that he had got something known as "winter" tyres on his car which apparently offer improved traction in icy conditions. I can't believe such things exist as surely we would have read about them. Anyone else heard of this nonsense?

It was and it does. I don't believe a word of it - if they existed surely people would be telling us incessantly how good they are.

My Mondeo must have them as standard, because it's gone everywhere I've pointed it.

Is that all he told you?

Did you not interrogate him further?

Quite frankly xenon you are a disgrace to the BMW fraternity coming on here dropping hints about something so revolutionary and radical.

These 'winter' tyres you mention, would they make the earth spin that much faster if they were fitted to a remapped 335D, and more importantly, as a result of the above, would they improve the climate?

If they did the above it would remove the need for 'winters'.

All these questions, I wonder if anyone has the answers?

Yes, I apologise profusely about failing to provide further details. It's just you see as he started going on for the sixth time about how he had negotiated a hill that a Nissan Micra could not, I fell asleep. When I awoke I found my erstwhile companion had been beaten to a bloody pulp by the rest of the pub's regulars, the words 'boring c*nt' etched on to his forehead with yellow tyre chalk.

Get a grip (no pun intended) Ian, that would depend on your direction of travel.

Did the assailant leave any clues behind, did CSI check the throat of the boring c*nt for a 'M' badge?

Talking of winter rubber, I find ribbed condoms work better this time of year.

A sock also gives quite good traction...

I put night time tyres on my car at dusk. I've also got a different set for Christmas day.
