good luck,,, the agricultural/corn lobbying groups are a very powerful organization, which are the only ones that stand to benefit from e10 or e15. It's a ruse under the guise that ethanol gas is somehow good for the environment.
The marine outboard industry has been battling the ethanol issue since day one and look what that got them --- the introduction of e15 which cannot be used in any boat engine made today. |

More ethanal means more power, E85 is a wonderful thing if you tune your car for it. I know when I had my Evo, E85 was the thing to have because it was eqiuvalant to 110 leaded gas. Only problme is your car burns it a lot faster. I believe it was 1.4 gallons of E85 to equal 1 gallon of unleaded.

I get it, I understand we are trying to limit our dependency on middle east oil, but ethanol is not the answer. When more cars die on the side of the road because of the higher contents of ethanol, what is the epa going to say? Oh well, not their dime...

While BMW hasn't made the official statement that more ethanol is bad, they have stated it in other ways. HPFP failures not being covered by warranty due to too high of ethanol content found in the gas tank is one example.
It's not just our cars. Manufacturers in general are against this because they know that the additional warranty work that will arise from increased ethanol will cut into their bottom line. It's all about the bottom line. We'll see whose is bigger, car industry or Big Ag ($$$ to the politicians) |
