Any lights? Sounds like a misfire or something. Possible caused by the HPFP.

You car will usually go into "limp mode" aka reduced power mode when it fails or about to fail.
With that being said, I wouldn't risk driving that distance if your car is shaking under acceleration. HPFP related or not, shaking under acceleration is never a good thing. |

How many miles on your car? Have you tried cleaning your MAF?

I was driving home from work today, right as i was getting on the highway (4th gear giving it some gas and in boost) i suddenly get the half engine message and my car slowed down and almost got rear ended on the highway. Gonna scan the car with the BT tool tomorrow and go to BMW

Mass Airflow Sensor.....it's located in your intake tube, after the filter, before the throttle body.
If it's dirty it can give improper readings and make your car run lean or rich....which can lead to misfires. Other culprits can be spark plugs, clogged injectors, or a coil pack on it's way out. |
