Cool CD Changer in E90

Does anyone know if the lead for the E46 is the same as the E90 on the CD Changer? I would be grateful for your help.

Why would you ever need a CD changer? You can play MP3 files from a CD, and fit about 100 songs on a single disc.

So I still don't know this, and it wasn't mentioned in the manual -- if I have the in-dash CD with Logic 7, do I have a 6-disc in-dash changer, or is it single disc?

ok, thanks :-( I guess it's OK. I'll burn tons of MP3's onto it, and will only need 1 :-)

Do you know what is the highest bit rate the MP3 player can handle?

Has anyone tested the CD pro sound system ?.
I used to drive a 320 e46 with CD business and found the sound quality rather low. Is CD pro on e90 better ?.
Would love to read your comments on it.
Thanks !

It depends on the audio quality that one desire. Personally I much prefer the audio quality of CD's. You can stuff more MP3 songs on a CD because of the compromised quality.

I have Logic 7 on my 545 and I have listened to Logic 7 on a 330 while on a test drive. Logic 7 is utterly awesome. Undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best audio systems available form an auto manufacturer. L7 is highly recommended.

Cd Changer

I had a e46 with Harmen Karden system which was great. The standard stereo in the E90 is better than the business in the E46 but isn't a patch on the logic 7 or the old HK system. I depends what you want. At the end fo the day of you want load music and lots of bass why not by a NOVA!

Pharding is dead-on.

Depending on the compression ratio, the sound quality of an MPEG 3 can be seriously degraded compared to a CD.

Just because you can fit a bunch of 'em on a disk doesn't mean it's better. On the other hand, it's in a automotive environment, so it might not make a bit of difference.

Wish BMW supported DVD-Audio and/or SACD. Now those formats are serious hi-fi.
