Is the 4yr/50,000mi maintenance transferrable?
Silly question...
Bought a 2008 335i from a non-bmw dealership. The car was turned in from a private owner, before being re-sold from a porsche specialty dealer. Is the 4yr/50,000 mile maintenance plan still included on the car? If so, what does that entail? Oil changes, etc? I just read the manual, which confused me more. *I couldn't find any search results pertaining to this on the first 3 pages of the search "335i free maintenance" |

it should be 4yr/50k miles from the date the car went into service.
i bought my '06 with 27k miles on it in 2009 and it still had the warranty on it. i bought it from a bmw dealer, so i don't know if that makes a difference and mine was CPO also. |

+1 I bought my car used and I had the power steering pump, oil/filter change, head bolt replaced, and wiper blades replaced all under warranty.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

And you should have gotten a Warranty/Service manual which describes what BMW calls "Condition Based Servicing". If not, get one from a dealer.

I bought mine used with 48000 miles on it from a used car lot in Memphis. I brought it to the dealer cuz the auto dimming mirror didnt work.
They replaced the rearview mirror for that. Then they replaced the steering wheel trim that was peeling, changed the oil, replaced the spark plugs, changed the cabin filter and air filter, added some updates, and flushed the brake fluid. Everything was free of charge!! I was thrilled when the SA told me all of the stuff they did. I didnt even know about their maintence program. Best dealership experience ever. |
