e92 ambiance lighting trim - can it be fitted to e90?
A bit pointless, I admit, but I think it looks superb and I want it desperately on my e90. Does anyone know if it can be retro fitted?

From what I understand, its a thin tube running along the top of the leather part of the door panel, inserted just below the alu trim in the photo.

Paul,
I think its entirely possible, just not sure how well integrated it'd be. We wouldn't want to mess up your gorgeous interior now would we? Besides, why stop at the door panels.....

Paul, I just realized from your signature that your 330dA (what does the A stand for by the way) puts out 455lb/ft, wow! Do you know how much the 335d puts out by any chance.

Correct. The manual gearbox can't take all that torque. The 335d puts out 'only' 580Nm stock, but this can be tuned to around 700 (approx. 510 lb/ft) My ambition is to one day own a car that produces 1000Nm

Paul, doubt you'll be able to retrofit the E92 lighting.
The doors are different lengths, so unless you were to cut the light-rod (which may cause it to no longer work) it's probably not possible.

Good point about the length of the e92's doors - hadn't thought of that. Doh! I also agree that it could easily look tacky if not done to a very high standard (of which I am probably not capable!).
Re. the armrest - you can order it as an accessory from your dealer and fit it yourself. It's very simple and is nicer for tall drivers (I'm 6'2"), because it actually slides forward enough to be of use, i.e. you can put your elbow on it. It is quite expensive, however (see parts here).

Part Nbr. 63319122420 - LED DOOR/SIDE PANEL LIGHTING (#3) But you´ll need some sort of trim to cover the led tube
