128i comes equipped with GM tranny. Does that answer your questions?
Jokes aside, does that happen in any gear? Did you try DS mode?

i was on D mode. I was already traveling at 65mph on the freeway and i then floored it and it literally took 2 sec for my car to respond.

its the auto transmission that sucks : (. Thats why I mostly drive it in manual mode now. I heard a powerbox helps with this issue a lot

Try DS or paddles other than that another fix is the BMS powerbox, it remaps your throttle and gets rid of the lag completely along with minimal power gains
