Santa comes early: BMW Perf Exhaust

Decided to go with this based on audio clips from other owners and the fact that it's a bolt on which means I can take it off when I sell the car and get a few bucks back. I was originally going to do just an intake for a little more engine growl but after reading about the aFe and Injen intakes for the 128 decided against it. The staggered chrome tips are slightly larger than stock which is pretty cool as it doesn't scream modded BMW to every slammed Civic I come across.

Already have, very helpful. Little nervous about where to cut but I assume you just transfer the dimension of the stub piece coming out of the muffler onto the existing exhaust. Assuming all dimensions and hanger positions are in the same position as the OEM.

Been thinking about this myself but the factory exhaust with the flapper thingamajiggy plugged up sound pretty decent by itself. I'm also not really keen on increasing the volume of the exhaust. Thoughts?

it's louder, but not that much louder, but it sounds great. Look for clips on this forum. It's definitely ok at cruise.

I did the gold-T mod but I couldn't tell any difference. This exhaust seems to be pretty much like OEM up to about 3,500 rpms, so it won't be louder across the entire rev band.

I keep meaning to do a film with the exhaust so folks get an idea of how loud it is. It is quite a bit louder and growlier than stock. It is also lighter by a few pounds, so that's a nice bonus.

Definitely worthwhile!

saving up currently. post a sound clip when u get it on. sounds clips at start up, idle and 0-3k rpm are the best, who cares what is sounds like 60 on the highway, we all know its going to be quiet, the question is how much growl does it have when you launch and take off.. im also very curious to hear this in Reverse in a 6mt.

bozo has some clips, but i already watched them all like 100 times lmaoo

Black chrome tips?

Can you take off the black chrome tips from the stock exhaust and put them on the BMW Performance exhaust?

Cool

Congrats on this. I have mine sitting in "my" parts corner at a very friendly and sympathetic dealer...and while just getting back from an assignment in Beijing, am anxious to get it mounted up to car. I heard it at a dealer in Lexington, Ky on a fall run, and was hooked. Had considered aftermarket ones, and decided I did not want or need any flow and computer issues. The cost was not that much different, and now I do not have to worry on the software and flow issues. Good luck with this. I am looking forward to it myself even more now. Thanks....

Been waiting for a week for Harbor Freight to deliver an electric saw I ordered to cut the exhaust pipe. Stupid move to save a few bucks over just buying at Loews. It'll be here Tuesday and it will be installed the same day.

Check my original pic. That clamp is pretty heavy duty.
