Hey guys,

Got mine tinted today with Huper Optik at Automall Tint Factory in Fremont,CA.. looks awesome.. got 50% fronts, 40% all rears..

Last time I got a tint was 1989 with my Supra Turbo..LOL

It cost me about $200, think its 20% all the way around (not the windshield, of course--hey, some people do it).

A bit darker than the tint job on my old G coupe

G35 coupe owner before i totaled it only to upgrade to a 335i. I had 35% on the G and it was just not dark enough, so I went 20% on my 335i. MUCH darker, sexier, and just better. If you ask me though, it's not even as dark as I expected.

How did Automall Tint deal with the dot matrix issue? My tinter used glue and there are areas where it's starting to bubble. If my tinter can't fix it, I may head over to Automall to see what they can do.

To deal with the dot matrix you can apply this black liquid with a brush (no, its not just paint), which then dries and matches up perfectly to the oem black around the edges of the rear window. I can't recall the name of it, but my local tint shop used it on my E92, and it looks amazing. Deals with the dot matrix, is pretty much permanent unless you take a blade to it, and if a professional applies it you won't notice any brush strokes when it dries. I recommend going with that method.

You sure you got HO film for $200? Are they an authorized installer?

HO is very expensive film. I paid nearly $450 in Los Angeles by an installer that was recommened by Huper Optik directly. If you got that kind of a deal, you're a lucky bastige!

I got 40% all around on a black sapphire and it looks fantastic. Heat rejection is also very efficient as well. Great looking ride!

I had HO 30 applied to my e90. I absolutely love it over any other tint I've had. I was worried over the dot matrix along borders. It appears they used a searated (sp?) shear along the edge of the tint which produced a scalloped border - each dot lays within a scallop along the border. Looks absolutely perfect. I paid 600 for all windows (except front windshield) and the sunroof - this will make it possible for me to enjoy the sunroof during the hot summers with feeling less heat from the sun coming through. I couldn't be more pleased.
