M Coupe Question?

Hi

I currently am driving a 2008 335i. Thinking to change my car for an 2007 M coupe.

You guys aware of any common problem on the M Coupe? Good & Bad?

Thanks for heads up !

I made the very same trade a few weeks ago. I thought my 335i was a very good car despite it's reliability problems, but I LOVE my M coupe. The only thing to keep in mind is the ride on the M coupe is MUCH harsher and there's a few creaks and rattles that you don't get in the E9x. I was always considering keeping the 335 and getting a Lotus Elise to give me some thrills.....now I don't have to.

the good thing about our M's is there is no major problem that is widespread, the only issue is a VANOS bolt problem that is only apparent in 06's (mine seems fine however)

heres the thread on it.. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthre...ighlight=VANOS

So are you driving your M coupe in the winter?

What year is your 335? How much did they take ur car for?

How much did you pay for ur m coupe?

Drivability wise? how would said it is comparing to the 335?

I've always driven my cars in the winter with no problems.
My 335 was a 2007 E90 with a sport pack.
The entire deal is a little skewed because I work at a dealer haha, but basically it amounted to my 335i plus 1500.
they both come in at almost the same in the Canadian Black Book so it was a fair deal i think.

As for driveability its a completely different animal. Depends what you're looking for in a car. With the M coupe you always have to be "on", the suspension is harsh and the stearing is darty around town. Also the engines powerband is completely different from the 335i.

S54 is a very reliable engine. 150k+ miles are common in older e46 M3s.

335 is very easy to drive compare to an M coupe, which you have to be paying attention to what you are doing all the time. M is so much harsher, sharper and unforgiving.
