A little annoyed with my 3-series.....

Anyone else have a problem with the position on the window buttons on the E90??

Maybe i just have short arms, but it seems to me like they are about 2 inches too far forward, often i findmyself pressing the window button and opening the back window instead of the front window that i intended to open.

a friend of mine and i were arguing about this today...hes ordering a 5 series almost all because of this annoyance on the 3series. I know it may sound like im being extremely annal, but we work with these cars all day every day, and this happens all the time, just wondering if any of you guys have noticed this.

No problem here... I have no back windows. Just buy a coupe.

Do what I did....get the coupe and you don't have to worry about the rear windows!

You'll get used to it. Leaning forward to hit the window switch makes for good exercise

I've opened the back windows by mistake, too. Time to trade for a 6 series.

i guess they were never all that functional in the e46, but it feels like the car is kinda bare w/o them. i thik bmw decided to cut corners on the rear windows.

My gripe is that it can be tricky to put the window back up when wearing winter gloves (wish my parking garage had a proximity detector for the barrier instead of a card reader ). No problems with the position though....

Still annoying after 18k miles.

The solution to this, ASSuming they needed to have the switches so far forward for some reason, would be to have the front & rear switches have a different shape/feel.

I think that pop out back windows are a gimick, essentially useless, and add needless complexity and weight. Plus every car I've been in with them they howl like crazy at speed. (Though admittedly none of those have been an e46)

Plus if we had them we'd have button issues

why did they change it in the first place. The place on the centerconsole next to the shifter (e.g. E46) is the perfect place for these swithes.

Some thing with the indicator(stalk) and the cruisecontrol(stalk). Why didn't BMW leave them respectively mechanical and on the steeringwheel?

Should I continue...? Seat controls, dashboard-layout, ...

Oh, I still love my E46 coupe...

But what's most important they didn't ruin the ride of the car, it's actually better. So all the above mentioned changes don't bother me.

But BMW should remember: "Changes doesn't always make the car better"

I would hate window switches on the center console. Almost every car has them on the door, why be confusing? The e46 had turn signals on the wheel??? Wow that would be weird, but very Enzo-like in a cool way.
