X3 Color Combo
help me choose. i'm still torn on what to get as i haven't seen the chestnut color nor the wavy (darker wood). I'm going with Alpine White. Just can't decide on interior.
Chestnut/Fineline Wave wood. Chestnut/Aluminum Black/Fineline Wave Wood.

i was leaning toward this one too, but i just don't know how that wave wood would go with the chestnut.
looks like the forum members here agrees with my wife on the black/wave wood.

To my eyes, the black interior looks best with Aluminum. But of your choices, I like the chestnut/fineline wave.
cheers,

I have test driven one with black and brushed aluminium and think this is the best combination if you are going for black leather.
Sports seats are a must! |

I have similar issues, do not like any wood trim BMW is offering, so I def put my vote for silver. would love it if the offered piano black trim, so far nada. If you are not sure about silver, then do not take it as it really looks very plain, the brushed aluminium version looks a lot better for sure.

I came across the following review on New Car Net of the X3 and the pictured interior of the X3 looked more red than brown - nothing like the Chestnut colour pics posted at the start of this thread.

I also have a question in regards to the X3's interior.
I've seen two different types of interiors with the beige leather. I don't know if this is a regional thing, engine spec dependent or apply to all x3 vehicals. 1. Single Grey tone interior (the dashboard, glovebox and floor carpets being grey/black) as seen here on the following Autospies video 2. Two tone interior (the dashboard has a mix of grey and beige with the floor carpets being beige) Can these options be chosen when ordering the car? I couldn't see this in the car configuration. Hi, my recomendation is to go to your local BMW dealer to see the leather and veneer samples as the bmw website does a very poor job of representing them.
I Have seen the Oyster leather with wave wood (launch night in uk and today at dealers) and it is a pretty good combo - that said the wave wood looks great on dash and doors but a bit like a brown zebra stripe around the gear shift. I nearly chose the chesnut (called red/brown in UK) with the aluminium, it looks good. I personally think Black goes best with aluminium also (especially with the contrast white stiching). Samples, samples, samples are the way forward!!! |

Hi, I'm a new member on this forum but have been following with great interest once I had decided that the new X3 was for me. Had a test drive at the weekend with Oyster seats and Fineline Wave Wood internal trim. Combination worked really well but I couldn't keep those seats clean.
I really want solid black trim which will be available on M sport but intend to opt for black seats with the Fineline Wave Wood. I have aluminium on my current chart and they have become chipped and scratched. Also there's just too much aluminium on the central transmission console. |

Welcome Waffle
You would have to be rought to damage the BMW aluminium, was the audi metal or plastic trim? I took me an age to decide on trim and leather option - I was brave and went for the Oyster (with a 19 month old baby it will be fun keeping it clean!)

Trim selection assistance needed for order.
Its crunchtime for me, have final Quote, need help on trim to place order. What are peoples thought of Mineral silver with red brown seats with Aluminium trim or dark wood. I am really hoping it will look like this combo on the 6 series minus the color coded bottom plastic.

I think those choices are both good. Chestnut would go well with mineral silver. I prefer the dark wood over the aluminum trim (I have aluminum on my E92 and it nicks pretty easily - especially from the seatbelt buckle). The aluminum should tie in well with the mineral silver though.

I get dings from the seatbelt going back, but it might not be an issue on the X3 due to the 4 doors…so there should be less area to ding. The area surrounding the shifter and the console are still in pretty good shape - its the door trim that doesn't look so good now.
