Interesting. I wonder why Lexus IS sales are down so much? I'm assuming C-Class sales are up because of significant incentives on the soon-to-be-replaced model.

Answer = The BMW 335i

*It filled the last thing that was missing --> HP & Torque; some people including me would not buy the 330i for just driving dynamics anymore. After test driving the G35 (more HP & Torque), Audi A4 3.2 ( more Torque), IS350 (more HP & Torque), & the 330i (less HP & less Torque than all)... I told my BMW CA; I'm not buying your car!

Thank god for me and him, he called me and told me he just got a 335i coupe and come in a take it for a drive.

What was missing (HP & Torque), was now fullfiled...we now had the perfect package

Amen Brother! I've always loved the 3-series, but it never delivered the raw hp/tq! (M3 too much for my pocket) I kept stalling, hoping for 6-spd Lexus IS coupe...but BMW came out of left field with the 335i. Kudos to BMW. So let's see: living through my Father I've driven (2) 2002 (1) 320i (1) 530i (1) 540i and now my own 335! Glad to be back.

Unfortunately the 5 series was way down and the 6 and 7 were down also, bringing BMW total sales down 1.8%. The 5 has probably lost ground to Infiniti and Lexus (especially with the GS 350 now out of the gate). Its sales should get a nice kick in the pants once the new 535i comes in March.

Agree somewhat. Even w/o the HP increase, I think IS sales would be down.

IMO, while the IS might have been appealing initially (on paper), it quickly loses its appeal. They seem to blend in with all the other imports out there as well as the Oldsmobile Alero.

Does anyone know sales stats for Canada? It seems like 90% of all E90s I see are 325Xi's. I'm just wondering how many 323i's have been sold in Canada. I've only ever seen two Touring's (one silver and another graphite with the radial spoke rims, both in Barrie, ON)

crazy when you look at the 330Ci sales from 2004, whcih you could say it was in it's prime (midlife remake) 302 units and the 335i coupe 901 units

incredible!

Thanks for the great spreadsheet.

Looking at all of 2006, there were 87,300 sedans sold vs. 2,500 wagons. Looks like we E91 owners don't have to buy 19" wheels and body kits to make our cars stand out from the crowd.
