E92 M3 6MT- Noise problem with transmission

Hello to all of you!
Help!

I have 2007 E92 M3 with manual gearbox, stock.

I have 2 problems!

1st -- is when the engine is completly cold and when i turn it on after a 1st
second i hear short knock/noise from the engine and after that is ok.
If the engine is warm everything is completly ok.
follow this link:

2nd (bigger problem) -- when i start the engine and press the clucth off some noise constantly coming from the transmission like something is grinding in the transmission but when i pressed the clutch on that noise completely disappears!
No matter the car stands or moving the noise is coming.
I can hear and feel that noise specialy when i'm doing 30 km/h in 3rd gear and slowly accelerating and again when i press the clutch on noise completely disappears!

Now the car has 40.000 km's and I bought it with 34.000 and all was perfectly well until now to my sorrow.

Otherwise I'm driving the M3 like a baby..

Regards!
Ivan

With such matters we can only assume what's due. The best solution would be if you give your car to BMW Service.

Thank God there is someone normal who want to help - thanks Eddie and Karusell
Guys I've already drove the car to BMW service and they told me: ''this is normal'' !!!
BUT, in Croatia (my born country) told me that!
In Germany in BMW Service told me that they have to change complete Gearbox!
But they told me I have to pay 50% of price plus work hours because the car is year 2007 but with only 42.000 km's on the clock.
Story starts to coming...
After my insistence (hard pushing) it's albout the car that worth allmost 100.000 € (full equipment except DKG and 19" wheels) with only 40.00 km's they told me they will change complete gearbox 100% under the kulanz.
I will have to pay only work hours but never mind.
What can I do
I must admit I'm a little disappointed after this with BMW M3 !!
40.000 km's and gearbox gone.
But life goes ahead
I will inform you when I pick it up - can't wait

Thanks,
Ivan

Problem 1 is Vanos rattle. Totally normal on start-up. It's when the Vanos system has no oil in it and runs dry for a split second.

Problem 2 is also normal when you're standing still...but since it also happens when you're moving it's probably not normal.

Noise when idle and noise it lost when push clutch, noise when run 2000-2500rpm and KLONK sound when changing gear.

I think that have same problem. I took my car for service and they say this is normal but i don't think it is.

Do i have take it diffrent BMW dealership or what? Thanks! I have only two months warranty.

This is normal noise what i have. I test drive other manual m3 and it was same noise.

Transmission Problem

M3Luck84 and others: I am having the same problem and am told that the dealership has replaced transmissions for less, but now I am getting pushback. Can you tell me exactly what the diagnosis was to get the fix?
