Wink Don't buy an E92

Kidding, kidding...

First ticket today. Knew it was going to happen. Almost made it 30 days. 24 to be exact. Is there anyone who can beat that? A bit of a contest perhaps? Just need something to console the winner. Ideas?

Go ahead and post the details of your first 335 ticket. How long after delivery. At what speed did they get you….

Almost embarrassed to admit, but mine was only for 67 in a 45. I was so sure that when I got one I would to be in jail. Oh well. There is always another motorcycle cop out there.

imho the 335 coupe is pretty unassuming, the roads are blanketed with 3 Series so there's no reason for cops to bother us. I went by a NJ trooper at 80 in a 65, he didn't budge from the shoulder.

My first ticket. Going 130 on the A8. That was on day 5 of having the car.

Yeah. Why? Do you think we'll get a ticket from the weight police?

Ahhhh. Now that's what I'm talking about. Reminds me of my good friend. Drives a blue z (hts2w8: or something like that) and speeds like mad to visit family in SF on his way from LA. Always thought he would wind up in jail when he finally got a ticket on the 5. Nope. Long story short, we rented a VW Jetta for a road trip, he was driving, and got one for 8 over. Think he was more pissed about getting an 8 over ticket in a Jetta than getting a ticket in the first place.

In regards to the e93 comment above...I accidentally wrote e93 in the heading and not e92. Later amended.

Ok. To keep this interesting. Post the following:

1. Day of ownership
2. Speed clocked
3. Posted limit
4. Extra circumstances (the interesting bit)

been through this with my MINI Cooper S

65 in a 45 in Virginia (that's like 95 in a 45 for people elsewhere )

the judge looked like he wanted my foot for a necklace

lawyer + fines + supporting calibration (useless) = $1000 but reduced to improper driving (saving insurance increase at least)

No way that car goes that fast! Ironically it was between that car and the 330i I got back in March of last year when I was placing my order. All I had to do was sit in the Dodge Charger SRT8 to know I didn't want it. I could never spend a great deal of time in an interior that is so uninspired and cold as the Dodge Charger.

I'm curious though. If you really did get arrested, what happened next? I always worry that a cop is going to be around the next bend on those rare times that I decide to take my baby up to high speed. I'm just curious as to the process. Was the cop pissed? Did he have someone come out to drive your car to impoundment or did they have it towed. Were you able to call a family member out to come and drive it away? How long were you in jail for? What was your fine? Thanks in advance.

LOL. I got one in a rented Santa Fe also. Plowed through a line of cones trying to get out of NYC and into the Lincoln Tunnel. Cop actually stopped me as I was about to hit the tunnel, asked me to get out of the car, pointed to the cone trapped in the grill, and asked me to return it. Seriously.

Nice to be independently wealthy, isn't it? One month in jail would cost the avg. e92 owner what, $1x,xxx in lost wages? Don't see how that could be worth it at all. SRT8 is one fast Grand Cherokee, I think the fastest suv that exists. Except when Hennessey gets their hands on one.

In my '04 MCS JCW...

"Clocked" at 75 in a 35 in VaBeach (Potters Rd, Bart - you know right near that bridge). I was polite, and it was my first (recorded) in over 15 years. She knocked it to a 54 and let me not go to jail. I know that right before the bridge I lifted; otherwise it would have been an 81 in a 35.

Funny, she did believe me when I said I didn't know how fast I was going (I really didn't - I was looking at the road, not the big honkin' speedo in the middle of the dash).
