Need Audio Help

Need some assitance on storing radio stations.

As I understand, up to 40 stations (I'm assuming AM/FM/Sirius correct?) can be stored into the cars memory. Right now I am using my 8 memory buttons on the dash for 8 Sirius stations. I can now see why some have said that they program these for other various functions, like frequently used phone numbers, naviagtion waypoints, or other quick access functions....

Question is....when I'm listening on a particular Sirius / FM / AM channel, do I then press "Radio" / "Presets" / "Store Station" to get this channel onto the Stored Station List?

Also, could I use one of the 8 memory pre-sets and program it to go directly to the 40 station presets screen? If so, then I could navigate through the staions I like a lot quicker and at the same time, have way more pre-sets than the 8 buttons on the dash.....correct?

I'm trying to configure this system so I can jump from one station to the next as quick as possible (I'm a dreaded channel flipper!) My old E39 had 18 presets and with the up/down controller on the steering wheel, was able to get to my favorite Sirius / FM / AM channels pretty quickly. I miss not being able to do this with the new car.

TIA

When you are listening to the station you want to store in the preset list, all you need to do is to press and HOLD the iDrive controller, and you will be prompted to store the station.

Once you have selected the "Preset" in the Radio Menu, you can use the right scroll wheel on your steering wheel to choose the preset stations. Just scroll and press.

Thanks nosnoop!

I just preset all my favorite Sirius channels and then put to Memory location 1 the "Preset" mode.

Works great and will allow quicker surfing among the channels I listen too. If I like a particular song or want furhter information as I listen in this mode, I can just go to the regular Surius format by hitting "Radio"

Really appreciate your help on this. Makes the car even that more enjoyable experience!

Thanks again.
