Didn't want the Montrealers to be all alone...
I saw a de-badged AW 330i on the commute to work this morning - anyone here? What was noteworthy was that their winter rims were black steel rims. I was told by anyone I asked that they were a no-no on the e90.

Haven't seen that car yet. I hven't seen yours yet either...
We should all meet (the three of us for starters) once we all get our car in the summer. I know you already have yours but mine is getting built this month and I don't think Alan Coles ordered his yet. When I am out I keep an eye for silver E90 330i, just in case. I didn't think I would be as excited as I am of getting the wagon (my third bimmer in less than five years and I am keeping the two others). It is still a bimmer. I have ordered a few goodies for it already. It is fun to have a new project.

Sounds good Jeff, a meet with an e90, an e91, and an e92 sounds like fun!
One of my neighbours has a red 325xiT, driven by the "soccer mom" of the family, and the dad drives a white e36. They may be enthusiasts, or they may be stereotypical Bimmer yuppies, I haven't quite figured it out yet, but my guess is the latter. What have you ordered for the 328xiT so far? I'm not very familiar with after-market stuff on the e91, I obviously have focused all of my attention on mods for the e90. As an aside, I'm thinking the AW e90 that I saw was OK with steel rims because maybe it doesn't have the sport package? Now that I think about it, the steel rims were recommended as a no-no given the larger brakes on the sport package. I live in Clayton Park and commute to Purdy's downtown, but if you do run into me you'll likely do so in the clayton park area.

Guys, if you're ever looking to order any detaling supplies from eshine.ca, they offer free shipping on orders over $100. A friend and I just placed a joint order for about $150 of stuff to save on shipping, so before you buy, let me know and we might be able to save a bit with a group order.
As an aside, the buddy of which I speak has an '01 VW GTI VR6, and we spent last saturday morning in his heated double-car garage giving his ride the Klasse treatment (AIO, and one coat of SG), then gave mine a normal wash and dry - the whole thing only took about 2.5 hours! However, it took the 20 minutes to drive home to have mine looking dirty again

Cool!
So far the money pit has claimed: -Winter alloys rims (17" Sport Edition E1) wrapped in Dunlop Winter Sport M3 RFT for next year. I don't believe steel rims are good for performance driving. They are too heavy. -Blacklines -Front euro xenon headlights assembly Additionaly, before delivery, I will order the front chrome grills and sliver bumper fin from the 330/335 lineup, complete chrome window trim (my car will be black with tinted windows, that will a nice accent) and roof moldings in order to remove the roof railings. Later I will get some 18" CSL replicas with ultra high performance summer tires for summer, Eibach or H&R sport springs and maybe front splitters(and that car will be done). Also in the past few weeks I have got 18" CSL replicas for my E46 330xi with ultra high performance summer tires and a set of Eibach sport springs (that car had the following mods done: all around euro clears, OEM trunk lip spoiler and a set of winter alloys (17" Sport Edition F6) with Dunlop Winter Sport M. With the springs and CSL, that project is finally completed (took me almost 5 years). In a few months/years, the M3 will eventually get sport springs with 19" CSL replicas (you see the trend? I love those wheels). That is that car needs. This parental leave makes me blow money like there is no tomorrow. I will have to stop soon even though I am having a blast (my wife thinks I am crazy). What are mods you have done/planning?

Wow Jeff, that's quite the Chistmas list of goodies! Can't wait to see the finished product.
All of the mods so far have simply been cosmetic: 17" ASA JH3 winter rims with the same Dunlop Winter Sport M3's you've got OEM rear lip spoiler ACS replica rear roof spoiler 38% tint on rear half only (didn't want to risk ticket for fronts) ACS aluminum pedals for the interior I'm happy with the suspension that came with my sport package, so I don't think I want to bother to spend any $ there. Next up are blacklines, and I may eventually get Xenon Fogs and running lights (as you know, they're halogen now and just the main headlights are Xenon). I think that'll be it though. Quote:

I saw the AW e90 yesterday. I think it is actually a debadged 325i with a chrome grill placed. The window trim is black and I've seen it in the summer with the 161 style rims (Sport package 325 rims). I think it has been dropped even more than the sport package as well.
I have Dunlop M3 DSST winters I put on my stock 17" rims. Good grip and very quiet. Great price on line from 1010Tires.com...half the price of Scotia and Coast Tire! Glad to be a new member. |

Welcome Nablu!
Good observations on the AW e90. I was passing it in stop and go traffic on the bedford highway so only saw the de-badge and the chrome trim, so I just assumed it was a 330i. I checked out 1010Tire.com while searching for winter rims and tires but ended up going with TireTrends.com - a Canadian site based out in BC. Local shops had nothing for me and really had no knowledge of my vehicle and it's needs. And of course the stealership's "deal" of $3750 for winter rims and tires was hard to pass up, but I managed somehow. Have you had your e90 for a while and just stumbled upon this site?

Hi Guys,
just introducing myself. Purchased a 328xi sedan back in November and have been a enjoying ever since. I purchased some supplies from ehine before xmas and bought more than I really needed at the time to get the free shipping so a group buy would work out for me in the future. I am also interested in purchasing the blacklines as well. Hawkshaw, where do you plan on ording the blacklines from? |

I'll probably end up getting the blacklines on eBay. They're always showing up there at what appears to be reasonable prices. There's a DIY install on this site which doesn't sound too complicated. I'll post a note in this section / thread the next time we're getting ready for an eshine order in case anyone wants anything.

I found this site when I had ordered my 330 in spring 2006. I took delivery in July. Took a while to register but I check out the site all the time...my wife asks me why when I got the car 6 months ago.
The site was great when I was trying to decide between SG/Black vs. SG/Terra. I was leaning towards the Terra interior but I chickened out. |

The Terra is nice, but it's a bit more bold than the convervative black. The black is classic though, you can't go wrong with it.

Black is classic indeed. Everyone was worried when I ordered my M3 Silver Grey with Cinnamon interior. Once the dealership personnel saw it in person they were in awe. I get compliments everytime the car is out. I wanted someting uncommon. I like it so much that I went with Terra with Black Sapphire for the wagon. I agree Terra is not for everybody and this contributes to me liking it so much.

Great news Jeff! One of the perks of being in Halifax is that they show up here direct (vs having to then ship from Halifax to ultimate destination).

I know but I am buying it from a dealer in Quebec so I will have to wait until its get there by train and then truck. However, I got a decent deal being a loyal customer (3 bimmers in less than 5 years).
