Top Speed Exhaust + Vibrant resonators

I just ordered a set of 18" vibrant resonators to put on my exhaust to try to tone it down and reduce drone.

My question is has anyone done this to the top speed exhaust? any sound clips? or can anyone suggest how it may sound?

THANKS!

p.s. should have it on by thanksgiving time ill keep all ya posted.

Hmm....that sound like a good idea to add Vibrant resonator. The stock ones that came with Top Speed doesn't really work too well in suppressing the drone. Can you provide the vibrant part number?

vibrant 1793 2.5 inch and 18 inches long. most people are going with the twelve but 6 more inches should do more rather than less.

the top speed exhaust has long straight portions and i think when other people have done it to other systems it looks like there is enough room to fit 18"s... i hope

Vibrant resonators are really bullet mufflers because they have sound-deadening material in the core. I did some Magnaflow mufflers and added Vibrant "resonators," afterwards which quieted it down a bit and reduced most of the drone.

Real resonators cancels frequencies through sound chambers and not material.

Eventually, I think I'm going to go for a full SuperSprint system with quads.

Yes, but it has been welded onto Rennart catless midpipes so I prefer local pick-up. The first section of the Rennart midpipes (resonators) was clamped on so I can ship those if you want but the section 2 and section 3 are one piece.

Thanks for doing this good Sir, I am very interested in toning down my TopSpeed as well. I like it idling and at low rpm, but on WOT it sounds... odd (the 3" catless DPs might contribute to that). BTW, I have a Duc with full 54mm Termignoni exhaust... that is a desirable kind of loud, not the one coming from my Bimmer though.

Interesting information, thanks for sharing.

good luck with them. I had the 12 inch vibrant resonators installed on my previous rennart exhaust and still had drone in my auto. I am running a AE exhaust on my car now and I just drive the car in sport mode to eliminate most of the drone that we with autos have to endure lol.

top spead w/ vibrant 1792-bump

I know this is an old thread, but I came across it. My Topseed exhaust arrives tomorrow along with a set of Vibrant 12" resonators. I'm going to have it installed tomorrow night and I will have add a video once completed. My current mods are catless dp's, JB4, DCI. I plan on leaving the existing resonators that the topspeed comes with and finding a spot to add the new ones.
