I've been having symptoms of a failing fuel pump ( several long cranks but no dead hpfp as of yet). It is most likely inevitable at this point and I only have 4500 miles on the car

2k miles and have had symptoms of the pump failing... but would show you that some members on the forum have had full blown failures...

I have about 850 miles on my '11 so far and its been fine. Some members on here have already reported issues with the fuel pump.

How do you figure? They are using the same flawed HPFP (943/933). Just because it has a single (twin scroll) turbo, it's achilles heel, like the N54 will always be the HPFP. One can only hope that this N54 recall puts a different, pump in that fixes the problem, and should hopefully work for the N55, but i'm not holding my breathe for this...

No problems with my 2011 yet. With almost every model the company makes now using the N55, BMW is going to have a very big problem if the N55 has the HPFP issues. It won't just be isolated to the 335 anymore.
Now you have the 335, X5, X6, 5 series, 7 series, 135, X3, all using the same engine. |
