233 miles on my new 335is and this happens..
Tell me if I should be concerned. I am parked in the garage. Start car and put tranny in reverse. Take foot off brake and no movement. I apply a little gas and still no movement. I apply just a little more gas and I here a loud "clunk" as the tranny finally engages and I move backwards. Hopefully this is a one time thing. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks.

If you were parked on an incline, it may have simply been the roll-back protection. It keeps the brakes applied until you give it enough gas that it won't roll back (or roll forward if you're reversing out of a inclined parking spot). Although I've never heard any "clunks" when the transmission engages, so that could indicate a problem.

I would just wait for HPFP failure and then take it in for both problems
ps. I have never in my life read so many complains about a car.......there are so many threads just like this where people pick up new cars and some miles later (or right away in some cases < i think the guy had tranny oil leak) something happens. This is just ridiculous, BMW should get there shit together.. |

Mine has done that a few times as well. Dct transmission of course. It seems like an extension of the reverse lag to me, so I have not worried about it. I now have 2,500 miles on my car, and it seems fine.

And make sure you tell them you felt like you had no control over the car, and you were screaming in fear because your car was going to 'asplode.
