What % of 335I have HPFP problems

I realy love the look and the way the 335I drives, BUUUUUUUUUT I am getting a little nervous reading about all the problems with the HPFP. So my question is what % of 335I have HPFP problems, IN YOUR OPINION. Do you think its over 50%?

This site has put so much fear into me I'm seriously considering canceling my order this week and getting a S5 and leaving BMW alone all together.

I don't think anyone has a constant HPFP issue. I think that its an issue that arises and needs to be fixed by the dealer which usually takes half a day or weeks. This depends on wether the dealer want to upgrade the software or go other routes.

I was looking at the S5 before as well. I think it looks way better than a regular 335 without the M-Tech. The upgradability of the 335 is what is so attractive. But if that's not your thing than maybe the S5 is what you should go with.

The good thing about this problem is that it can be diagnosed and has its own warranty. The bad thing is IT SUCKS and embarrassing. It's a risk worth taking tho.

Im just asking what % do YOU think have had A problem. From all the posts it looks like 50% have had a problem at some point with HPFP. Yes the A5 are nice to, but the BMW has more head room and a used bmw is under 30K

An accurate poll is nearly impossible to orchestrate, given the N54/55's wide range of applications and the adverse selection nature of forums in general

43k miles and not a single issue. My other friend has 72k and he's on his original pump as well. I have another friend that got a very early model 07 (built in late 06) that had a HPFP replacement after 26k miles.

Everyone will tell u different but I think that more than 50% of the 335's out have had the HPFP replaced at least once. I have 5 friends with 335's and they have all had their pumps replaced at least once.

BMW is in trouble because they put the N54 in a lot of different vehicles. Personally I think the pump fails quicker the more aggressive you drive. But then again who knows.

To be fair, TrackRat, the survey you posted is of E90post members who elected to participate in the survey, which I hope we can agree is not as objective as a survey of the situation should be.

If you count cars that have reached 100,000 miles in the US, I bet it's like 100%

If you go that route, wait for the supercharged V6. I'll bet orders go in for this car in 8 months.
