Seat Foam?

This might be a new one, I searched and found nothing about this. It seems like my drivers side seat is leaking out foam from somewhere. The foam that you would happen to find in any padded chair, similar to memory foam. Every so often behind the drivers seat I find tiny bits of foam just accumulating there, yet couldn't find a tear or opening from where it could be coming from. I had the car in for basic service today and asked the dealer to check it out, they acknowledged that it could be foam from the seat, however since it was Saturday they wouldn't have time to take apart the seat to take a closer look to where it was coming from. (Didn't have many techs on duty with a large number of cars to be serviced) So I'll be taking it in again soon as I start seeing more of this foam. Anybody out there that may have experienced this as well?
Thanks!

I might be internal, behind the covering and just working its way down to the lowest point, then leaking through the stitching or some small open spot. How big are the pieces of foam? Pictures?

I thought of the same thing, but this has been going on for months, it couldn't be a mouse, I would think it would have starved by now, I don't eat in the car so no bits of food being dropped and left behind. I'll start seeing some more of that foam in a bit, I'll take some pics and take it back to the dealer for them to take it apart and find out

Well, that's bigger than what I envisioned. Try knocking on the back of the seat and see if you can get more to come out. This would at least confirm where it is coming from.

spring rubbing against the foam... chewing away at it when you sit on the seat.

i wouldnt worry about it... unless its a gerbil and its making it's way thru the center of your seat.....

Is replacing the base seat foam a big job? Anyone attempted it themselves?

The off side of my driver seat is deteriorating in a similar fashion to the OP and dropping foam on the rear carpet, would like to replace the entire base to stop the rot and also recondition the seat (stop the bolster creasing further).
