BMW is backward ass in their Traction control settings.

When you press the DTC it is actually enabling the Dynamic Traction Control. What does this mean? It means it will allow you to spin the tires more and get a little more sideways.

Press and hold the DTC for more then a few seconds will disable all traction controls. You will see the circle with triangle in the middle.

What does this mean? It means if you don't know what you are doing you will spin your car (circle figure), in to a tree (triangle figure).

How is this backwards?

DSC controls wheelspin under more circumstances and modulates braking/torque so that the car goes where you point. This is the safest net, and is the default.

DTC controls wheelspin in a straight line, but allows a certain amount of lateral movement before it kicks in. You press the DTC button once.

Hold the button for 3 seconds to remove safety nets altogether.

Again, I don't see how this is backwards. You have to go out of your way to be at risk.

well if you have an automatic, it will upshift in D + DS if it hits red line depending on your throttle, and M manual mode only if you press the button at full throttle

first sight of wheel spin, its your traction if anything.

Turn off traction, put it in M and make sure you dont press that button.

I would of but my wife likes to take it out sometimes. She would burn up a clutch in seconds!

Even if you're in M with everything off, a steptronic trans will shit up if you hit redine. I have noticed that when the wheel is turned in the middle of a drift that my car won't shift up until the wheel is somewhat returned to center, if that's anything worth noting.

Well I have had many steptronic cars and they were all able to slide and shift under my controll. If I knew the 335i would stop me I wouldnt have bought it. It really has taken the fun out of getting this car. Are there any computer mods that can eliminate this?
