Did anyone else know...?

That you don't have to put the keyfob in the ignition to start the car? I found this out on accident the other day.. If you don't have to put the keyfob into the ignition, then why is it even there?

Yes, that's why you paid extra for Comfort Access. The slot is there for cars without CA.

I have CA but I sometimes put the key in the slot when I don't have pockets - just as a place to store the key while I'm driving.

I find that I must use the slot to get the memory settings used between mine and my wife's keys. I was also told to put it in before taking it in for repairs so it records the current maintenance

Thanks.. I bought the car second hand and was not told of this feature.. My Infiniti QX came standard with it.

Pretty much every new car, especially luxury cars are starting to put this standard. Audi, MB, and BMW for some reason want to charge more for it, or don't include it all together yet. I like BMW's way of putting ridges instead of the obvious black button every other make uses.

It's a nice idea but I like the function of black buttons better. Many a times I've looked like an absolute idiot having to double back for the door to lock.
