Deleted my resonator on my LCI E90 335i.

hey guys, was looking for a little more sound from my E90, as its pretty quiet compared to my coupe. So went and got the resonator deleted and replaced with straight piping.. here is a pic for now.. More and pics coming later with video..

Sounds about the same as my coupe, maybe a tad louder. The coupe doesnt have a resonator like the sedan, it has a x-pipe. But imho a nice mod to do to increase sound which shouldnt mess with your warranty very much.. Sound is deep and clean. should of came like this from the factory, every e90 owner should do this!

****SOUND CLIP:
sry off my phone..

So your E92's stock exhaust is louder than your E90? I thought stock exhaust are the same regardless of body style? My stock E90 sounded just like any stock E92/E93

The X-pipe system on the E92 is slightly louder than the resonator system on the E90.

Sounds good! I deleted the resonator on my e90 and replaced it with a Magnaflow X-Pipe, which worked out well for me.

I don't - probably should tho, the guy who did it was really good, his welds looked great! Not much to really describe though, just the resonator removed, and then he put the x-pipe in and used a U-shaped bend cut in half to fill in the rest of the piping.

I tried the golf-tee mod for about 20 minutes - didn't like the sound and extra drone.

Yeh get some pics!!! The way the stock pipes turn and are bent makes it hard for a straight cut out and weld in....so was wondering how they did it. Did you use the x-pipe or crossover one. What size?

I'll see what I can do - it was the Magnaflow Part # 10791 from performancepeddler who had a drastically lower price than anywhere else I could find.

It was a mod well worth it - it took a long time to find someone that would install it for a decent price though.

Was thinking of using the magnaflow crossover pipe.....but now that I saw this I'm not too sure. Although Mr. 5 seems to like the sound of the xpipe better. Wonder if the coupe system is really a xpipe or if it's seperated too.

The first pic is the pipe on the left when looking from the rear of the car, and the second pic is the pipe on the right.

I've always heard the e92 had an x-pipe, and nothing else. It make's you wonder why they chose to divorce the piping on the e90.
