I'd think of that as being more of a legal question in your country. Personally I wouldn't worry about it. If you use fuel which is a little lower than 91 RON your engine will make the necessary adjustments but loose just a bit of power. BMW is typically conservative in their numbers anyways.

My BMW R1200RT motorcycle is specified to develop 110 hp with 98 RON but only 101 with 91, so I would assume something similar is operating with the cars. When I had to use 91 RON for a couple of tanks, the knock sensor eliminated detonation, but the fuel economy did seem to suffer a bit. Tom |

Heres a link to the manual- free at BMW. Wouldn't have service info but that kind of stuff is usually there. |

Thats a good point. I didn't even think about the lower gas milage that goes along with the huge performance hit. Just more reason for me to love good old California Gas! |

95RON should be the minimum you put in a BMW, just like 91AKI that you would put in, sure you could use 91RON or 87AKI but its really not recommended at all.
i found the car runs just fine with 95RON but the manual even recommends to go for 98RON, i usually fill up 100RON at OMV , makes a difference for the turbo engine and mountains p.s i dont know if egypt has leaded fuel or not, be careful |
