Info on Pre-March E90 Builds

I just purchased a 2007 335i Sedan build date 09/06. I've been seeing alot of "pre-March" talk in some of the threads I've been reading; about "bolted" diff's etc.

Can some one explain what they changed when the March production hit?

I think the difference is the pre-march '07 cars had the ring gear welded to the diff carrier and after that, it was bolted on. Having the welded diff makes it very hard to swap to a limited slip.
