People with V-35 vented hood please READ!

Having read that water getting in the engine bay is okay, I decided to try a touchless carwash place today.

Right after the car wash, my engine started running rough and there was smoke-like (maybe just evaporation???) smog coming out of my front grilles.
My heart almost STOPPED!!!

I turned off the engine and opened the hood and smoke was keep coming out of the front grille area.

It didn't throw any codes and after a while I started the engine and now I'm back home safely but should I be worried?? The car is running fine and no codes whatsoever..

ANYWAYS.. I'm NEVER going to take my car to a touchless carwash ever again......

Stop being lazy. If you have to be lazy, at least go to some place where they hand wash it only.

And run the risk with debris trapped in the microfibers they use? I've only used a hand wash place once and it left a three-feet long scratch. I ain't EVER going to a hand wash place again.

unless you drop large ones ($$) on quality car detailing, i suggest you go buy some products, read up some tips online, and wash your car yourself

Most likely the water evaporating... my car did the same thing when I had to clean the engine bay. But it didn't run rough like you said. I bet its fine.

Good to hear that but the engine running rough was very scary...

I've had my V35 hood for a year now, and have been through countless touch-less car washes, and never had the engine run rough.

Steam pouring out the vents is normal as it's just the water hitting the hot surfaces in the engine bay.

Learn the difference between STEAM and SMOKE. Steam will disappear as it rises. Smoke will not dissipate.
