New York for Christmas

Hey guys,

I am planning to head to New York around Christmas time with my gf.

Any suggestion on where I must go and where to avoid?

I am planning to go for 3 - 4 days and if I have time I will likely hit New Jersey too!

Let me know guys, thanks!

we stayed at the hotel plaza athenee this last time. great location, smaller hotel, on a quiet block. i'll be going back. 60 thompson is another one of my regular nyc hotels. it's in SOHO but a very 'swanky' hotel. i've stayed lots of other places but i'll probably go back to the plaza athenee for a while. just can't beat it's location without staying at a mega hotel.

what is there to see in jersey>? i mean, i visit jersey regularly and it's a pretty mundane place. definitely stay in NYC...jersey is boring, for the most part, especially during the winter.

Well...for a short trip, there's no reason to go there. What in Jersey do you wish to see? Unless you're into roller coasters, NYC and LI can probably accommodate you better

True, but I've always viewed that as a convenience for people who live there. If you wanna gamble on a vacation, gotta hit up Vegas

I've only stayed at the Roosevelt and I don't recommend it. It's a really old hotel. I stayed in a cheaper room and it was not well maintained at all, very dusty. However, the location was excellent because I could walk to Grand Central station to take any subway, walk to 5th Avenue, and walk to Times Square.

Hi there, the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show with the Rockettes. Ice skating at Rockefeller Center. A horse and buggy ride through Central Park, especially if it's snowing and many many more. . .

Bottle of champagne goes nicely with the carriage ride through central park

If you're gonna do ice skating though I recommend doing that first

jersey doesnt have much that is close to nyc atleast. the only thing i can think of that might be good for a short trip is to go to the cake boss bakery. it's in Hoboken which is right across the hudson from NYC. might not be something you're into but most girl's seem to be into that show.

I heard the line for that store runs around the block. Hoboken is prob the only area besides AC (a waste of time imo) that you could hit up, but youll probably be too busy with NYC for 3-4 days

i would also reccommend spending the big bucks when you go out to eat...you only have 3-4days, you are with your GF, and to really experience NY you have to visit some of its finest restaurants..

i've been wanting to go to gordon ramsay's 'London' resturaunt
