Took Delivery @ SC

What a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who have a time to pick up their car in S Carolina. First of all I would to thank Donnie and Co. for a great time even though it was short. My wife was really impress with all the arrangement and including the factory tour. At first I was concerned about the tour that she might not like it but I was dead wrong. Fortunalety for us that the weather cooperated. Of course the most important was the actual delivery of my Space Gray 335 coupe. It got CA, PP, Heated Seats and Performance P. Just got back last night after an overnight stay in Biltmore Inn with a discounted rate due to the Performance Delivery package and a great help from Donnie again. The driving instructions were great (thanks again to Donnie and (Michael ? sorry). Donnie took us to a great drive to the Biltmore Estate. It was an hour and 45 minutes from the delivery center. He let us used their radio while we follow him and he served as a tour guide. I will try to post some pics here.

One important thing. It was mentioned that BMW changed the policy regarding ED and PD. They mentioned that you can now do both ED and PD at the same time. Not at the same time but concurrently. So you can now take the European Delivery and let it delivered in SC for your Performance Delivery. I will try to post more later on.

I love your color selection....can't wait to do PCD. Those pics just verified that I chose wisely. Best of luck.

I've always thought PD would be a lot of fun. To do ED followed by PD would be the ultimate.

Great short write up.

Congrats on the car.

Congrats on the new ride! I also hoped you enjoyed your time in Charleston (I'm guessing Charleston is the port where they arrive). We're fortunate to live somewhat close, and my wife and I love spending time in Charleston. I imagine that picking up your new bimmer and hanging out in Charleston would be a great experience!

Beautiful, really like that color. What interior color did you get? What kind of wood? Do you have pics of interior? Did you get Nav?

Congrats.

I just did PCD on 1/18 and Donnie is great. Did he take you for a ride in an M5? He's an amazing driver. I got the same color as you and was parked in the same spot as yours LOL

I hope that I can have the same boring job as Donnie has . If I remember it correctly, there were 4 of us that picked up a 335 coupe, one X3 and one M6. Donnie showed us the proper way to drive in the track and that M5 he drove was great. We all drove the 635 going to the plant from the delivery center . Additional pics below. I got black leather and gray wood interior. I will take more interior pics. I didn't use the car for 3 days since it started snowing last Sunday here in Ohio. I will wait until all the salts on the road are wash off and cleared. I already got a stone chip when we travel back from the Biltmore Estate last Saturday but it was a great and comfy ride. To be continued...

valeram,
Who mentioned it? I have inquired recently and been told it was not possible. If you have any info on who I might talk to, please forward it in this thread or PM me. I would really appreciate it. I really enjoy the whole ED experience and have been shot down twice trying to combine the two. Never had the chance to do PDC.

Very nice ride by the way.

Biltmore...what a bonus!

Anyone else out there trying (or succeeded) to do the twin deliveries, ED and PDC?

Jonathan (I hope I remember it correctly), the person who personally delivered the car mentioned it to us. I made a comment about doing just one of the two because of BMW policy on ED and PD. He specifically mentioned it and you can quote me on this. I clarified it and double check, asked him twice if I heard it correctly. He mentioned that it was changed early this year but the BMW web site is not yet updated on that new policy.

Wow your pics show off this color the best I have seen. It looks awesome in that showroom, it's screams take me for a ride.

Can't wait for your interior pics, this is the exact combo I am leaning towards. Can you try to get the best possible pics of the gray wood, I know it's hard to capture though , don't use a flash if you can help it, otherwise it will show brown in the wood.

I will take that interior pics as soon as I can drive it out. Hopefully the weather cooperates tomorrow. I bounced the flash on the ceiling and placed a diffuser on it when I took those pictures but I forgot to take an interior pics. Maybe because I was so excited to drive it out. I also have to lower the resolution when I posted it here. The total size for one pic is around 4.5 MB but I have to downgrade it to 400 KB.

Sorry but the the weather is not cooperating for this past week. My dealer's CA even called me up mid this week to inform me that I should try the SOS button so that my system on their side can be activated (included in the Premium Package - BMW Assist). I used the car just yesterday but I forgot my camera at home, I was running late in the morning. I just used it yesterday since taking delivery @SC and the mileage is already 630mi. I will give it a go today and thanks for reminding me.
