New Tires For 2006 X3

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2006 X3 that is due to have the tires replaced. The original tires are the Michellin MXM4's. I have been pricing up the tires and they are about $230.00 each. Is there any cheaper tires that are just as good as the original factory ones ? If so, please let me know which tires you recommend.

Thanks,

My 2006 X3 got BF Goodrich Serenity tires in the spring, about 7000 miles ago, and I have been very happy. They have a deep tread, which seems to give more comfort to the firm stock suspension. They are also quieter. I haven't tried them in snow, but I doubt if that matters in GA like it does in MA.
They were under $650 mounted and balanced at Costco.

Btw, I've had nothing but good experiences with TireRack.

I picked up an 06 X3 and it had Pirelli Pzero Nero All Seasons on it and they are great tires, tirerack has them for 160$ a tire I believe. I also picked up a set of continential extreme winter contacts as my winter set from tirerack and they're great tires. Not very noisy at all, and grip the road great. Very little float for winter tires too.

Shipping is really reasonable from Tirerack too as they have warehouses all over the midwest... just my 2 cents.

I got a set of Yokohama EnVigor, to replace the stock Michelins, and I'm very happy with their performance. More comfortabel and quieter. About the same level of dry grip, and a bit better in wet / snow. Much less expensive, too.

I paid $133 per tire a couple of weeks ago for the 18" Pzero Nero A/S.

Note that this tire was rated #1 among high-performance all season tires by Consumer Reports (ahead of the Pilot Sport A/S Plus and the Conti Extreme Contact DWS).
