Nav or M-Sport Package

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but I've been stalking around for a couple weeks now. I don't have a BMW right now but I'm planning to get one once I graduate from college.

Just need some opinion: Should I get the Navigation or the M-Sport Package?

I've driven my friend's 330i before that has a Nav and I have to say that it makes the interior looks more "luxurious". The M-Sport Package on the other hand is more expensive but I think that it's worth it because it actually adds "real value" to the car...

Btw, I'm planning to get the 2011 335i (before the new model/ design comes out for 2012?)

Thanks for the input guys!

I'd have a hard time choosing between the two, but if I HAD to, I think I'd pick Nav and just do some cosmetic mods as I got the extra money.

m-sport. Gadgets are nice but the sport package is something that will contribute/enhance the mechanics of the car.

If you have to ask, then you'd probably be more happy with the iDrive/Navigation.

+1, best way to go if you can't afford both.

you don't want to experience buyers remorse and regret it the next time you see / drive a car with nav or m-sport

Nav doesn't only add navigation feature, it adds "i-drive" that is well worth every penny.
In other hand, M-sports doesn't do anything for me, it's just bunch of stupid m sticker here and there plus "ok" looking bumpers (I much prefer the clean stock bumper). But I would definately go for the sports pack for the superior seat over the standard seat alone.

In a long term, Navi will value much better than the m-sports pack when resale comes. Everyone will be able to tell what the navigation is but alot of poeple wouldn't notice the difference between regular and m-sports bumper. Ask your gf if she can tell the difference, I doubt it.

Does m-sport change any handling characteristics over sport? If not I'd do sport + nav if I had to pick

M sport, nav is way way way overpriced for what you get.

I'd get the nav (iDrive). It is well worth it, IMO, and I wouldn't want the car without it. I am a bit of a techie geek, so take it FWIW.

As stated by others, the m-sport package is just a bunch of M badges on a non-M car, as well as aero-components. It is purely cosmetic.

Hahaha this is funny. People are saying nav isn't worth it when m sport costs 3k and it's nothing more than cosmetics. Get nav and regular sport. Those combined is the same price as msport

I forgot to add though...The headliner completely makes the M-Sport Pk worth it in my opinion..If you can't afford to go loaded...maybe get a 328 or wait till you can afford options

+1 for Nav + Sport Package. That's the way I went and don't regret it at all.

The way I figure it, if I REALLY want the M-Sport bits, I can add them later on. The same cannot be said for Nav/iDrive.

I actually thought about this also...Getting a regular sport package (nice seats and better suspension) with the Nav. I thought that I'd hate looking at the "M" badge on my steering wheel all the time, and realizing that I am not driving an "M" car...

Oh shit NVM.
I forgot that LCI E92 has these NASTY bumpers...M-sport is a MUST. I would pay whatever to get rid of those ugly bumpers, even if I had to drop all other options.
But then...why even bother getting $50k car without options...?

I would just get the used pre-LCI if you are concerned about cost of options and save $$$. Heck, pre-LCI looks much better in every aspect except tail lamps.

I just bought my 2011 335i two weeks ago with both m sport and navi and couldn't not be happier. Get both! But if I had to choose it would be navi because it completely changes the look of the interior in your car in my opinion. And plus you can add the m sport package later on if you choose but you can't add the iDrive

He's looking at E90s...

+1 for Nav...Msport looks cool but I'd rather have Nav and choose from OEM or aftermarket exterior parts if/when the time comes where I was bored with the exterior...

I'd go iDrive personally. Though get both if you can, you won't regret it. Also, if you're buying the car, remember that both of those options will factor into resale value down the road.

No. It's 100% cosmetic.

with m-sport you get a)different wheels, b)park distance control c) M steering wheel d)shadowline exterior trim e) M aerodynamic kit f) anthracite headliner all for 1650 over sports package price. If you think you can get all that installed for less than twice that price aftermarket, I have a bridge I want to sell you. Nav system is nav plus idrive. I can get a pretty nice nav system for a quarter of the 2100$ price tag and personally, I am not impressed by idrive. Of course these are all just opinions and we are all allowed to have em. If it's just because you like the way it breaks up the dash then its an appearance vs appearance question. Exterior M package appearance vs interior Nav look. I also like the dash without the nav, but that's just me. Also aero packages do lend to the cars performance, but not when driving to the store.
