No good E90 LCI Xenon conversion options?

So I've been following a pile of threads on options for converting my 2011 E90 328i from halogen to xenon, and it looks like the options are:
1. Deal with people who have been banned for poor service
2. Try a ridiculously expensive (~$2,800) frankenstein solution and hope it works (and what do you do 2-3 years down the road when something goes wrong?)
3. Live with it. sigh.

Since we're in year 3 now of the E90 LCI is there anything in the pipeline that will be a straight swap (less than $800) to resolve this? Or am I just missing something?

(Before anyone flames--I came out about $9K ahead in my current ride vs a custom build, so it really wasn't worth it to order a car just for the xenons).

Dave

I'm in the exact same boat Dave. It is BMW's failure that they want so much for the OEM Xenons aftermarket, combined with the fact that the E90s doesn't have standard Xenons. I would have "happily" paid an extra 800$ upon pick up/delivery for Xenons, this is 2010 ffs. But it wasn't possible since I bought a stock machine as well.

We are fooked for now. As a concession, I am looking for xenon DRL AEs that would run without the yellow turn bulb at the same time. Anyone with suggestions please?

Here's an option from DEPO

The signal lights are LEDs and you can install an HID kit. Too bad no one carries them yet.

Thanks for the replies and links--I can't be alone in thinking this is a growing market. Almost every 328 I looked at lacked xenons, or it was loaded and I would have moved to a 335 instead for the same money.

I was hoping a few vendors would jump in with some teasers of things to come (anyone???).

It would literally have been a $9K option for me to custom order, so I don't regret my decision. Even half of that in mods would go a long way to ease the pain.

I hated my halogen Headlights so bad, Got mine converted to pre lci euro headlights from LTBMW. woot woot! It's amazing how xenon headlamps make the car look even better from the front.

I purchased the headlamps because i did get my 328 for a very great price and certified pre owned !! the money i saved is what i have been using to make the car look cleaner.

Didnt the LCI come out in 09? I think my car was one of the 1st LCI in March 09. Not many ppl even had it on the forum.

Good thing in Canada 328 comes with xenons only.

Model year '09 (which came out in mid-08), so we're in the 3rd _model_ year (should have been more specific) since the '11s have been out for several months...... Still, that's a long time to have no plug-and-play solutions...

Glad you have xenons, eh?

Gosh.... Glad i found this post. I've been browsing this forum for the past days for a plug&play solutioN without luck. Just got my 2011 E90 and as OP the deal even without xenons was so good I couldn't let it pass. But coming from a e46 with p46's ae's & xenons I reaaaaaally miss them now. Vendors add one more customer.

This is what the ebay vendor responded regarding that image...

Dear tavuslokus,

Actually 444-1167-LEHM2 is OEM headlight, DEPO has not yet started to develop it.

LCi E90 headlight does not have any UHP LED upgrade available to it at the moment.

Regards,

Simon

Will you be carrying the same setup but for E90Lci models? If so any estimate arrival time? I've a Lci OEM halogen with angel eyes and corner bulbs (no LED) looking for an upgrade. It already seems like DEPO has something in mind. Here's the link (#444-1167-LEHM2) http://www.depo.com.tw/asp/pdf/R_BM_...%20E90_E91.pdf
