According to Scott who posted over on German Car Forum we may see another piece come off at the Paris Motor show.

The show starts 2nd October and runs for a couple of weeks. Could be anytime between the 2nd and 17th before we see another piece of the hottie

Will the "reveal" not be earlier during the press only days?

From few french car newpapers it should be the official presentation of the Serie 1 M coupe.

And few others are stating that BMW will put the car in France but only in Detroit what at shame ...

You guys are lame... it better be the engine! Highly unlikely they'd pop the hood next with all the exterior still covered, but that's what I'd like to see next.

Might be the new ///M1 Concept instead or the ///M50d concept. Whatever the car is, it looks good. (note ///M1, not 1///M)

They are talking about displaying the car in Paris but behind glass barriers so nobody can rip off the the rest of the velcro padding. That is the overall concern about displaying the car in public .

The 1M made an appearance at the M event in China where the M3 Tiger was launched alongside every M car ever made as BMW flew them in for the launch.

M sales in China have been increasing year by year and is still growing , hence the large focus for the launch for the M3 Tiger Edition which I believe has sold out.

SCOTT, can you please comment on the recent news regarding unit production worldwide/US of the 1M? And how limiting production clearly conflicts with the philosophy of 'entry level M-car'? It may be entry level in price, but exclusivity due to limited production = treating your customers like dogs. And please no marketing jargon about getting a sense of customer demand to sell all the units. BMW will sell them all, great cars will always sell.
Thanks, and your input is always appreciated.

Any word on exactly when the 1M will be on display? I'm thinking about driving down to Paris to check it out either this weekend or the final weekend, but only if I can see the 1M. And yes, I realize it'll only be a fender and maybe, if I'm lucky, they'll pull off another little piece. But I have to see this Valencia Orange in person before I pull the trigger on that color.

I'm excited about the release. Have you seen the way it works the ring on the youtube vid. Next to nothing body role and with the speculations floating about, it sounds like it's going to have an a$$ of an M3. VERY NICE

The 1M in it's semi-uncovered shape will not be shown in Paris because of the concern that somebody might decide to take the reveal into their own hands.

However BMW France will get to see the car as it will be available in the French market next Spring. Tonight at a special BMW Preview night for the French distributors which is held previous to the press day of the Paris motor show. All product due within this timeframe in which it will be just before the IAA launches will be shown to the employees of BMW France.
It is something BMW , and all manufacturers do to get them amped for forthcoming product at all Major Autoshows. Cars are trucked in and afterwards transported back to Munich.

The Concept 6er Coupe remains on the BMW stand at Porte de Versailles exhibition halls, As a Production Coupe will be shown in it's place.
BMW will also show it's Vision Efficient Dynamics "Full Runner" prior to tomorrows release.

Scott it is disappointing to hear the car will not be shown to the public in Paris.

So when will the next piece of the car be revealed to the general public?

Scott, what does this actually mean?

Will there be no reveal/ information update at all for the rest of the world?

No online update?
Nothing?

This is so disappointing. The will it, won't it farce is ridiculous.

Can we not just say there won't be an update until Christmas and be done with it?

I can't stand it any more!!!

There will be updates, but not at the Paris Motor Show. I don't know where and when exactly, but it'll be before Christmas.

Best regards,

Ill throw this out there. Im getting a little pissed off with the delay in the reveal. There is only 1 reason for it.

The rest of the car is not ready and is still havin bodywork done on it. We know the car was rushed but instead of telling us its ready why cant they just tell the truth.
