ceramic idrive knob
So anyone thinking of "modding" their baby by swapping out the regular idrive knob with the ceramic one? i wonder if that will look nice?
Anyone else ponder on this? Edit: Actually the ceramic shifter and ceramic knob ported over to the f10 would look sick! |

I saw the pictures of these ceramic controls here
http://www.7post.com/forums/showthre...hlight=ceramic They "seems" to be the same size and shape as in the F10 so I would think a swap should be very possible. Anyone bold enough to try this out ?!!! |

For the mod to look right you would have to replace the idrive knob, bezel, and shifter. The rectangle shifter surround remains silver on ceramic and stock controls. Replacing the bezel would probably require the console to be disassembled.

Don't a lot of the folks here have the Sport auto? That would make the shifter part of it impossible since the sport auto has a different design shifter.
As for the iDrive knob, maybe call a dealer and ask for pricing on the knob for a 7.. They do have the ceramic controls on 7ers in NA. |
