Very true but the GT3 has to acknowledge that the car behind him is faster to give the hand signal. Its like swallowing a big ego pill.

Check out your local BMW CCA. The one here in NJ runs Into Driving Courses that are very affordable (125) and designed with the Noob in mind.

I was thinking of doing the one here in October at the same track, but this video pretty much made my decision for me

You should go in september if you can. The BMW crew doesn't go very often and BMW CCA told me that I might get 2 runs for the day. PCA goes at least twice a month

There is nothing like running with a group of track worthy vehicles not just regular cars on the track.

Just go to mytrackschedule.com, search for clubs in your region and it will show you everything you need to know.

The only way a 335 passes a GT3 on a track is if the Porsche is broken or the driver is truly...certifiably retarded. Even a novice driver in a GT3 beats a 335.

OP, welcome...and very cool video. I did a track day with the local PCA...much better deal ($$) than BMWCCA track day. I had a hell of a time, and my car did well. I also got to ride around in one of the instructors GT3s...On the track, that car was un-friggin-believable...made my 335 feel like a camry.

Interesting. How much is the PCA one, and how much instruction is there? I've never been on a track before; the October BMW CCA one is geared towards first timers, its only 125, and they let you borrow a helmet if you don't have one (I don't). I'd be nervous to do a track day without some instruction first.

It cost me 325

The instructors are top notch and they sit with you for every run. They all drive Porsche's but most of them drive 911 Turbo's or GT3's and have been driving over 7 years. Its not an option unless you pay for the solo price

I am a first timer and was nervous as hell about the whole thing. I have never been autocrossing or been to a track.

I bought my own helmet for 250. Just better that way since you will get addicted.

When looking for a helmet go to a local motorcycle shop. I got a nice one on sale for $80...snell 2010 approved? I don't recall which snell rating it had, just remember it was good til 2017 or something like that.

Yea you probably bought a motorcycle helmet which is way cheaper than the SA helmets. I got the Gforce eliminator helmet. Some road courses don't allow motorcycle helmets.

I went to tech inspection and motorcycle helmets were are allowed for the day I went ..

Good driving! I've been telling myself I'd do a BMWCCA driving school after I got more experience on the road with my car, and until I at least do an autocross event to get my feet wet.
