Phonebook
Hi,
I've been reading this forum for a while now and found some good and helpful stuff from here! Anyway, I haven't found solution to my problem, so it's time for my first post. I have 330xi with professional navi and bluetooth, it's from November 2006 production. When I open up my phonebook, I can only browse the contacts that can fit in the screen at one time. For example, for letter A I can see first five contacts but not more, I can't scroll down. Same for other letters. Also same thing happens with browsing hotels or restaurants in navigations "information" window, I can't scroll down to see more than the ones that are displayed already. Anybody else experiening the same thing? Is there something that I'm missing, any way to go to next page or something? Thanks! |

It requires you to move down another level to browse more enteries....why did someone not think to simply let you scroll from left to right?
Also when (dont mean to hijack) when i hit the phone symbol on the steering colum it automaticly dials the last number....I thought it would have been a short cut to the phone interface. Have I over looked a setting? Or, is this just the way it is? |

It feels like you can't scroll further, but you can. Just turn the wheel "harder." It feels like you are breaking it, but you aren't. Alternatively, you can pull down on the iDrive controller, then you can scroll through the next screen.
To smellthebeans - that's what the phone button does. It also hangs up if you hit it during a call. The shortcut to the phone interface is to hold the iDrive controller up. Or hit the voice button and say "Top 8" or "Redial" (the latter gives you the redial menu, it doesn't just dial the last number) -- at least, for me those are the phone screens I use the most.

To add to what BK said:
mikvilja: an alternate method (but slower than using the iDrive wheel unless you want to go slow) is to use the up/down arrow keys on the steering wheel. smellthebeans: I programmed my diamond button bring up the phone interface. There's a setting in iDrive to program your diamond and star buttons... from the main menu push your iDrive down to get to the various settings screen, then look for the appropriate option to change these options.

Thanks! I thought I couldn't turn the knob more but there it was. Also I don't know how I didn't think about the buttons in steering wheel before...
Thanks again for your help! |

THANKS
ALL,
Thanks for the input & clarification. I did not know I could navigate the phone interface via the voice commands ie..."Top Eight". I dont have the I drive system...maybe on my next car I'll order it. |
