eibach pro-kit / bilstein HD shocks too stiff

Bought my e92 last week with eibach pro kit / bilstein HD shocks and find a ride a bit too stiff for my liking. Freeway driving is not bad, but city driving even on the smoothest of roads tosses you around quite a bit. I do not track my car and there are really no roads to push the car's handling here in Arizona, so body roll / corners is not really of concern to me.

I do however like the drop that the eibach springs provide. At last resort I have the stock 'sport' suspension and will go to that if I cannot find a softer alternative. Will my ride become better if I swap out ONLY the bilstein shocks for stock shocks? I know that will sacrifice the stock shocks life, but I might be OK with that. Also, are there 'softer' shocks I can put in that will work with the eibach springs?

If I can't find what I am looking for I will look at going coilovers somewhere down the line. Any suggestions? tips? I have searched the forums and found mixed reviews for eibach / alternative shocks setup. Again I am looking for a ride that is very close to 'stock' but slightly lowered! Please help

If you use the stock shocks your ride quality will only get worse. For a softer alternative where you can maintain your drop consider Koni Sport which you can adjust the way you like. I've heard the Koni FSD (non-adjustable) offers an even better ride than stock, so consider those too.

I don't think the Koni Sports will be softer than the Bilsteins even at the softest setting. I think you may always want to look into BMW Performance suspension. Drops about .4- .5 inches and has upgraded shocks/struts.

What about Koni Yellows? Full soft setting should be pretty nice...anyone want to chime in..it's what I got ordered now.

I've had Koni Yellow in the past with coilovers, full soft and the ride was fantastic on my Audi S4.

Check how much suspension travel you have. A common problem of using lowering springs is that you have reduced suspension travel, and in the worst case, you are riding on the bump stops (if you have a full tank of gas + passengers). Two solutions: use suspension dampers that have a shorter shaft (i.e. Bilstein B8) or trim the bump stops. Did you trim the bump stops?
