Bushing grease
What kind of grease do you use for bushings? Does it matter? I want to soak my bushings in grease before I put my new sway bar on to stave off squeaks, but don't know where to start with what type of grease and where to buy it from. Something Home Depot would have?

So I've found that synthetic grease (non petroleum based) will not degrade your bushings. Anyone have any experience with http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/JET...HP8?Pid=search

Soaking the bushing in grease won't do anything. They don't absorb it.
Use a non water based grease and you'll be fine. Marine greases work great as they are designed to be in contact with water and won't wash away. |

Marine grease is petroleum based and will degrade the rubber

I'm not certain - they are OEM M3 bushings for the M3 bar. I picked up some silicone grease and will use with teflon tape to hopefully stave off squeaks

Depends. Rubber is generally maintenance free which is good, but squishes/compresses. Poly acts like a fluid in that it's shape can deform, but overall volume will remain the same. Depending on the part and its movement one bushing may be better than another. For sway bars, I like poly bushings.
