It looks like there are many choices and I don't know what to get.

I already have the stock xenons with the yellow stock angel eyes. Does the install involve taking apart the headlight to replace the rings?

What kinda kits are available for the sedan?

to replace the angel eyes on the E90 sedan, you would need to go thru the front wheel well

I don't think I wanna go with just LED bulbs. Can I do HID's?

If I can, is it safe? would it melt the housing or anything else?

HIDs on the pre-LCI E90 is hairy as it's not a standard bulb. You can go with our WeissLicht LED Upgrades, we have two installation guides on the site to help you as well.

HIDs will not work for your E90 pre-LCI angels. I would suggest the MTEC E90 LED units for a simple plug and play install
