ASA JH3's and 225/45 tires... Revisted.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally got my 335i coupe (Yea!), and the 17" ASA JH3 wheels (with 20 offset) from TireRack with Bridgestone Blizzaks 225/45 tires DO fit! I know there were concerns about front fender rubbing, but I have no problems. Actually, the JH3's with 20 offset look really nice. I'll try to post pics tomorrow as I am at work all day, and it will be dark tonight by the time I get home. Just FYI!

Looks good DrDomer, my 335i should be here sometime mid January and I will order the same winter tire set up as yours. I think they will look better and perform just as well in the snow as the 205's.
You will have to report back how they do in the snow! Dave |

Here are mine on an E90 335i w/spt pkg. They do line up about flush with the top edge of the fender with this offset on the front. Although I'm sure they won't rub, the biggest issue will be the amount of spray/road debris that could be thrown on the side of the car since the wheel sticks out a bit as the wheel well tapers at the bottom. The backs tuck in a bit more, definitely no issues.
Looks wise, I am happy, nothing like the 162's but good enough for snow rims. I have center caps, just waiting for it to warm up a bit before I stick them on. Also, I am running Dunlop M3 DSST's, and am very happy with the snow, wet and dry road performance after 2 days. Drove on snow with the stock sport tires and that was a joke, but the snow tires make all the difference. Last edited by F30Toad; 01-10-2007 at 08:33 AM.. |

TPM question related to this tire / wheel combo
Hello,
I am about to install this same tire / wheel combo on my car (when it arrives - should be about a week). I was wondering about a few things: 1) Did you have to install the TPM into the wheel also? If not, doesn't the alert keep going off? 2) Where did you have the TPM installed? How much did it cost? General question, just trying to get a feel for it. 3) The center caps, did you just take those off your OEM wheels? 4) What about flats? I know that there isn't room under the trunk mat for a spare, so do you just keep a spare in the trunk, or a simple patch kit? Thanks for your time. - SR |

3-Ask your tirerack rep for them. If you go through the sites link they should give them for free if you ask. 4-I would consider RFT's, really make sense for winter driving imo. Who wants to be dealing with a flat in the snow. If not get a small pump and fix-a-flat, just to get you to a good repair place. |
