eibach pro kit springs fitment question
Just got some pro kit springs part# 2092.140 which apply to 335i e90sedans and e92coupes. Unfortunately though, I have a e90 328i sedan and the proper part # is 2085.140. So far the only difference i could find between the springs is that the 2092 drop the front 1.4" while 2085 drop 1.2" up front.
Is the suspension on the e90 335i a lot different in terms of build than the e90 328i sedan? Would these springs still fit my 328i? Any help is appreciated, thanks! |

I dont ee why they would be any different. an E90 is an E90. I have eibach pros as well, pretty ure we have talked to each other a couple times about it, and I didnt order specific part numbers, I jut got eibach pros.
keep in mind it a very conservative drop over the sport suspension. A good looking one though. In my opinion it is perfect. Make sure to get some new shocks with it. THose will drastically improve ride quality and performance. I love my set up. PM if you have questions.

Hey wlew, yea you've helped me out a bunch of times! I don't see why they wouldn't work either but I guess I won't know for sure until I get em on.

I'm not an expert or anything...just going off what I've seen on eibach's site. Here's another site that has all the BMW specs on one page:

Why did you get springs that aren't specific to your car? I would call up Eibach and see if there really is a difference between the two model #s. I've spoken with them on the phone before, and they're pretty friendly and helpful. Here's their number for technical help: 1-800-507-2338. Good luck!

Ok so i gave Eibach a call and this is what I've summarized up:
Front springs are the same part # (undisclosed) for both pro-kits (2085.140 and 2092.140). Because of the increased weight on the 335i over the 328i, the result is a .2" lower drop (1.4" over 1.2"). Rear springs however are different part #'s (undisclosed) between the two pro-kits. Each springs lowers their respective car application 1.0". The compression rate though is identical for both rear springs at 4.57 lbs/in. In theory, if the rear spring coils are identical in fitment for both the e90 328i and 335i, the the drop using the rear springs for a 335i on a 328i would be about .86". My math is probably totally off, but I got this drop rate by multiplying the derivitive of the lowering rate of the front springs when applied to the 328i and 335i (1.2"/1.4") by 1 (1.0" drop rate for both rear springs). For obvious liability reasons, Eibach could not confirm if the rear springs made for the e90 335i (part # 2092.140) would fit on an e90 328i (part # 2085.140). My guess is that the springs will fit, resulting in a more subtle drop (.86" vs 1.0") Now my questions and/or concerns: 1. Can anyone confirm if the stock springs for the e90 328i and e90 335i are the same fitment (meaning they are interchangeable only resulting in different heights)? 2. At stock height for non-sport e90 328i, what is the gap between the fender and tire in the front and back? (this i can measure later when I get back to my car...just thought i'd throw it out there) 3. If applied what will be the resulting fender/tire gap for the front and back, if the front is lowered 1.2" and rear lowered .86"? (again i can measure off of knowing the existing fender/tire gap) Will the .14" difference in the rear make a huge difference asthetically and to the performance? 4. Wondering if it's even worth going thru the hassle to find out (wouldnt really be my hassle since my bro-in-law will be doing the install) Still up in the air here. Will follow up if I decide to go thru with the install |

Your thinking too much on this point.
Just throw the springs on and see how it feels. Its not like the Wheels or Springs are going to fall off the car. |

the e9x all run the same springs in the aftermarket.
Dont worry, just put them on and you will be good to go. The chassis is the same for all e90's, as long as its not XI designated you dont have an issue. |
