Vinyl or Paint??

So I want to matte black my car but I dont know whether I should go vinyl or paint. Ive heard of people having problems down the road with vinyl and Ive heard it can be a bitch to maintain but you cant remove paint whenever you want.
Are the rumors about vinyl true or has anyone had a different experience?

My friend just did a matte finish clear bra on someones car and it turned out great.
This way you get the protection and your paint stays new underneath.
I would NOT paint it.

Vinyl because you easily undo it. Repainting the car will decrease the value of the car when you try to sell it.

+1 vote for powdercoating.

The factory aluminum trim lends itself well to powdercoating. With powdercoating you have many choices of colors & finishes, plus it is infinitely more durable than paint (you can pour gasoline on powdercoat and it will not damage the finish). Plus it is so much more professioal looking than simply painting the trim yourself while it is on the car.

I had many parts powdercoated in my day - including all the gloss black trim on my wifes Sebring Convertible to freshen up the finish. If done by competant powdercoater, you will never know it didn't come from factory that way and will last lifetime of car.

Only problem is you would need to completely remove the factory trim without damaging it - which, from what I hear, is almost impossible?
