Eibach pro-kit and Koni Yellow review
I just got a set of Eibach pro's and Koni Yellows installed on my e90 330i today.
First impression: WOW. To start off, the springs lowered the car about a half inch lower than sports suspension. this is on stock wheels currently. The ride has improved dramatically. It handles ten times better than the sports suspension. I am taking turns and curves 10-20 mph faster than I used to. Not only does it stay in the lines better, I am more comfortable taking them. I absolutely love it. it stays planted to the ground and has minimal body roll. It out performs the stock sports so much better. The ride quality is amazing. It rides smoother and less jittery than the sports. I feel like it has less bumps and vibrations. I was nervous about the ride quality being too harsh, and it is not worse at all. It is better. it handles very predictably and does not jar you or slam down like the sports did. Highway driving is also smoother. If you have been hesitating about getting this done to your car...fear no more. It is by far the best thing you can do. suspension wise. I cant stop smiling about it because the car is a whole different ride. I highly highly recommend it. Feel free to PM me with any questions and I will gladly answer them. The knoi's are at the softest setting. Before you post it, I WILL take some pictures tomorrow. Dont worry, its getting dark and my driveway is kind of slanted. when I get a flat area ill take some pics. +100000 for this set up.

no problem, I was thinking about fsd for a while, but read too much about how they over react or under react at certain times. with the yellows you can tune them exactly how you want them. even at the softest setting it feels great and handles extremely well.
Let me know when you get them, I would love to hear your impression.

Glad to hear you're happy with it. And yea, we need pics now, damnit!! lol
I feel like you're the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to going with a setup that no one has and no one recommends, lol..cause I went with FSD's/H&R sport. I don't have ANY experience driving any other E9x cars with aftermarket suspension so I can't say what's good/better. And there were so many that said the H&R sport/FSD was a stupid way to go. But it feels fine to me. I know that I LOVED the way it felt at first. Then I wasn't too sure for a little while...and now I'm back to liking it a lot. I've been thinking of either getting the yellows or Coilovers in the near future. I have never heard of one single person complain or say anything other than positive about CO's. But I have seen at least a few complain about every spring/shock setup.... Not trying to negate what you've done...just saying...

thanks guys.
Coilovers are definitely the best option out there, but they are expensive. to install and to purchase. thats the reason I went with this set up. But with coilovers they are very adjustable which is nice. If you can afford em, definitely get them. As for price on these I got the springs $250 shipped. and the yellows for... around 500 give or take. I bought these when the deals for yellows were a steal. Dont know if those are going on anymore or not. you could still probably find them for circa 650? thats a wild guess, i have no clue. always check the for sale areas. Let me know if Yall have any more questions...

Here are a few pictures of the car lowered, on stock rims, taken from my phone. They obviously are not the best quality, I am working on getting a camera to take some nice ones in a parking deck or at my farm. I think the farm would look nice with the hills and forest in the back, but thats another issue. I am no photographer.
anyways, be patient and sometime this weekend I will have more time. With the Vice President coming into town and staying at my hotel... I have been a little busy making sure the property looks nice. Enjoy

Looks great.
I prefer your real world photos, instead of the super staged ones we see. It gives you the true day by day look. Do you notice any rear rake? Any chance of a sideshot with the front wheels straight? Did you by chance take any pre and post measurements? |

Great to hear that you tried this...I have the Eibachs and rear yellows in my living room with the front yellows coming in next week.
I've been waiting 3 months for the fronts to come off back order. I also got the H&R front sway. I decided on this setup w/o seeing anyone else going with this setup, so glad to hear it worked out. Thanks for the setting info, I was wondering what to do. If you have any other insight over the next few weeks please post it so I can make stiffness adjustments accordingly. Did the rear drop much, I really wish I could keep the sport rear drop and drop the front about an inch the gaps are uneven on the stock sport setup. Can't wait to get mine on the car! |

it dropped the rear maybe an inch? if that. maybe about .8". you should keep the lwoering even, as in lower both ends at the same time. it would look funny if you kept the rear too high. but as I said, it doesnt drop it too much.
let me know more about the front sway... I am thinking of doing that as well... but dont know if its worth it. I would lvoe to hear more.

Rake refers to the front being lowered more than the rear.
In the case of the E92 the stock gap in the front is much bigger than the rear, which looks stupid so that is why I would like the front lowered more. After I get my setup installed I write something up. The sway should be around $250 and install is easy, or so i've heard. Problem is that this AM i'm dropping the car off for wastegate rattle so i think I'm in for an adventure after reading others experiences. I have an 2/07 build so it has the early turbos and am hoping they will get replaced. Stay tuned... |
