ok im about to tint out my car but i dont no how dark... I live in maryland and legal is 35 but thats not dark enough i was thinking 20 or 25%. Any suggestions or pictures?

20% is the perfect balance IMHO. It's dark enough in the daytime without making it obvious to cops that you have illegal tint.

And why isn't the legal limit dark enough? BTW, expect stricter enforcement in the NCR for tint as part of the increased policing.

Cops are generally leery of dark tint and you'll see greater enforcement.

If you're worried about heat rejection then get ceramic tint. Most 50-65% ceramic tint will give you heat rejection greater than that of most 20% tint.

20% if you are going illegal, dont listen to some of the grandpa's on here...its your ass if you get caught with illegal tint, but if you are going to risk it do 20

I got 15% on rear window, 30% on the side windows, and 50% on the front window and I love it! I might even go 15% on the sides...

all my cars are 20, with 50 in the front...i want 5 but it actually affects vision at night and i dont want to hurt my car

5% is awesome i have had it for over 2 years with no problems other than a ticket

15/20% all around and 50% on the windshield best for any car

oh and ceramic ofcourse, it also help to get the sun roof tinted with 15/20 % and roll around with the cover pulled back , it lets in light without letting in the heat and will make it look like you have a lot lighter tint and you wont get pulled over because the cops will be able to see you or at least an outline of you

and if you have a backup camera 5% on the back because blocking the headlights at night is really nice

5% tint on the side windows and you will get pulled over, cops can tell imediatly when you ahve limo tint , its too obvious and limo tint is different , it has more reflectivness and is thicker, bad idea

If im not mistaken, limo tint is 2%

supposedly the tint varies depending on the time of day

thats what i was told buy the shop, idk how accurate that is

this could also be due to the fact that the windows before being tinted are like 75% tint

same thing when i got pulled over for my 5% cop said it was 2% and he even asked me if i had two layers of tint on the windows

i did 22% on back and side windows for the coupe...the door and passenger side windows i did 32%...


Personally i like this combo without getting too much heat from the cops.. Prior to this, i had 15% all around and was cited within that same month.

my friend had 10 all around and he has had his car for 3 years now and have had no tickets. but thats way to dark i think im going to go with 20

I'd agree. 20% would probably be the lowest I'd go, and would look good.
